The European Year of Skills at DYPA’s 25th Career Day in Thessaloniki

DYPA’s regularly held “Career Day” events contribute significantly to successful job matching. Moreover, the numerous participants in these events are provided with relevant information about the European Year of Skills initiatives.For the Thessaloniki “Career Day” held on Saturday, February 24th, DYPA invited apprentices and teaching staff from its local Apprenticeship Vocational Schools (EPAS).

Supported by their teachers, the EPAS students will present some of the activities included in their school curriculum, inform visitors about the advantages of both the theoretical and practical education/training they receive through the Dual VET system implemented by the DYPA EPAS throughout Greece.

The value of vocational education and the skills obtained by EPAS students, who are this promptly integrated into the labour market, has been highlighted by the latter’s clear references to the importance of their apprenticeships and their workplace based training, held in businesses of both the public and private sectors.

Finally, the event will also comprise counselling workshops, providing participants with valuable job-search techniques, which will help them make their CVs more attractive and find appropriate jobs corresponding to their profiles.
